HTTP Status Code Reference

A status code alone does not diagnose a server fault. This curated reference performs no HTTP probes or runtime data fetches. Suggestions depend on the request, server configuration and logs.

Sources, limits and privacy

Curated from the IANA HTTP Status Code Registry (opens a new tab) and the linked HTTP RFCs. Repository curation: 2026-10-27. Names and classifications follow those sources; explanations and next steps are original summaries, not proprietary remediation text. Deprecated and unused codes are explicitly labeled, not suggested for new use. Unlisted, unassigned and vendor-specific codes are not fabricated as standard entries.

The exact code must be three ASCII digits from 100 to 599, with no whitespace or controls. Search accepts up to 120 UTF-16 characters and rejects controls and malformed Unicode. Native edit ceilings are 5 and 122 characters; oversized edits may clip before transport but are refused, never searched as a valid prefix. Refusal clears both text fields and stale results/Copy; shorten and re-enter or Clear. Ordinary native editing bounds do not certify hostile programmatic assignment or every IME.

No payload persistence or logging is added. Interactive Auto server events traverse the Blazor connection; WebAssembly executes on-device. Copy explicitly writes the report to your clipboard. Reference links are opened only on your request. Website active only; extension and Android discovery flags are inactive, not hard route denial.

Search a curated offline HTTP status reference.

Input and limitations

Optional exact three ASCII digit code (100..599), search text up to 120 characters, or a response class.

Check the selected options before using the result. Formatting and conversion do not establish that data is safe or suitable for your application.

How to use HTTP Status Code Reference

  1. Enter an exact code, search by name or meaning, or choose a class, then Search reference.
  2. Read the classification and context before using the suggested next step; Copy exports the displayed results.
  3. Clear removes code, search, category, results and errors.

Example

Enter exact code 404 and Search reference to see Not Found in Client Error. Search Not Found or choose a response class to browse curated entries. A code alone does not diagnose a server fault; no website is contacted.

Privacy on the website

The website uses Blazor Auto: interactive processing can run on the server or in your browser, depending on the current session. Do not assume pasted input stays on your device. Use non-sensitive sample data, and never place passwords, tokens or personal data in page URLs.

Search indexing covers public tool descriptions, not your input or generated output. See the privacy policy for website analytics and other data handling.

Install and offline help

Use your browser's install action, if available. Installation is optional; you can keep using this website normally.

Tools need an internet connection. Offline support provides a connection information page, not all-tools offline use.

Reset keeps favorites and preferences. It does not restore unsaved tool content.
