Number Base Converter

Integer-only, arbitrary-precision conversion. Standard bases 2–36 use 0–9/A–Z (input is case-insensitive; output is uppercase). No floating point, rounding, two's complement or fixed-width interpretation.

Syntax, limits and privacy

A single leading minus is the only sign. Whitespace is not a digit: remove it rather than expecting trimming. No plus sign, decimal point, exponent notation, digit separators or prefix inference is supported. For example, 0xFF is invalid in base 16; letters such as E are ordinary digits when the selected alphabet allows them. Leading zeroes canonicalize, and negative zero becomes zero.

Custom alphabets contain 2–62 unique printable ASCII symbols, are case-sensitive, and exclude whitespace, controls and the reserved symbols +, - and . . Their length defines the base; their symbol order defines digit values. Alphabets are processing preferences retained by Clear.

Limits are measured in UTF-16 code units: at most 1,024 magnitude digits plus one optional minus, 62 symbols per alphabet, and 16,384 output characters. Native ceilings are 1,027 and 64 characters; a large paste may clip before transport but is refused, never converted as an accepted prefix. Oversized edits clear the affected field and stale result/Copy; shorten and re-enter that field or Clear. Ordinary browser input bounds do not certify hostile programmatic assignments or every IME.

No payload persistence or logging is added. Interactive Auto server events traverse the Blazor connection; WebAssembly executes on-device. Copy explicitly writes the result to your clipboard. Website discovery is active; extension and Android flags are inactive, not hard route denial.

Number Base Converter guide

Convert signed integers between standard or custom bases.

Input and limitations

Integer-only: up to 1,024 magnitude digits and an optional leading minus. No whitespace, fractions, separators or implicit prefixes.

Check the selected options before using the result. Formatting and conversion do not establish that data is safe or suitable for your application.

How to use Number Base Converter

  1. Choose source and target bases, enter an integer, then Convert.
  2. Custom alphabets list digits in ascending value order; the first symbol represents zero. Choose Copy to copy the result.
  3. Clear removes the integer, result and errors; base choices and custom alphabets stay selected.

Example

Convert decimal 255 to hexadecimal FF or binary 11111111. With source alphabet ab and target alphabet 01, ba becomes 10. Custom alphabets are case-sensitive; integer-only, no prefix inference.

Privacy on the website

The website uses Blazor Auto: interactive processing can run on the server or in your browser, depending on the current session. Do not assume pasted input stays on your device. Use non-sensitive sample data, and never place passwords, tokens or personal data in page URLs.

Search indexing covers public tool descriptions, not your input or generated output. See the privacy policy for website analytics and other data handling.
